Overview
Tuffy PR is California State University, Fullerton’s student-run public relations team, where students collaborate in an agency-style environment to develop strategic communication campaigns for real clients. As part of COMM 464: Public Relations Management, I worked with a team to create a comprehensive PR plan for a nonprofit client, gaining hands-on experience in research, media relations, and campaign execution.
My Role & Responsibilities
- Collaborated with a PR team to develop a strategic public relations campaign for The SoCal Animal Response Team, a nonprofit organization
- Conducted audience, media, and competitor research to inform campaign strategy and messaging
- Created social media content for Instagram, X, and Facebook to increase audience engagement
- Wrote and distributed a news release to 10 targeted media outlets
- Developed a media list through research and outreach planning
- Supported campaign execution by coordinating a dog toy giveaway to increase community engagement
